4. Cyclops' Death Scene - X-Men: The Last Stand

Cyclops gets a majorly sucky death in The Last Stand when he goes to Alkali Lake and is met by Jean Grey aka Phoenix, who embraces him and disintegrates him. As if this wasn't bad enough, it ends up happening mostly off-screen and brings one of the series' most under-appreciated heroes' tenure to an abrupt end. Well, until Days of Future Past happened and thankfully pressed the reset button on all this nonsense. Given the persistent rumours that Fox wrote Cyclops out to get back at Marsden for appearing in Superman Returns (which in turn limited how available he was for The Last Stand), it's proof perfect that Fox will cut off their nose to spite their face.
