6. Gambit Won't Cameo In X-Men: Apocalypse

For a while it looked as if Gambit might make his bow in X-Men Apocalypse, the upcoming sequel to Bryan Singer's triumphant return to the franchise. With so many mutants already packed into that project, adding a dose of Gambit probably wouldn't have hurt, but Tatum nipped that notion in the bud back in June. When asked by a fan if Gambit would shore up in Apocalypse, Tatum was incredibly polite, but also direct:

"No ma'am, or sir. I definitely will not."

So, our first glimpse of Gambit will almost certainly be in his own spin-off, which is maybe not a bad thing if Fox have big plans for the character. Room to breath never hurt anyone, and it should better allow Tatum to establish his take on Gambit without having to compete alongside other celebrated mutants and stars.
