X-Men's Gambit Spin-Off Movie: Everything You Need To Know

4. Tatum Almost Left The Project

Not so long ago, rumours circulated that Channing Tatum was on the cusp of quitting Gambit. The reason for the momentary lapse in his commitment is still unknown, but thankfully, the actor officially signed onto the movie shortly after the insidious gossip stared doing the rounds. The Wrap originally reported the situation, and they're a pretty reputable outlet, so for the briefest of moments, there was likely a question mark over Tatum's participation. Maybe Fox or Wyatt began to push Gambit away from Tatum's take on the character, unsettling or disrupting what interested the Jump Street star about the role in the first place. Seems a compromise was swiftly reached, or the new plans scrapped though, because Tatum is now officially contracted to play Gambit in his own vehicle, with the option to expand further into the X-Men universe if necessary.
