3. Gambit Will Be A Much Bigger Film Than Deadpool

Gambit isn't the only Marvel hero Fox are giving a solo movie to next year. There's also Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool, a hard R-rated take on the "Merc with a Mouth". However, whilst reports have Deadpool aiming for a conservative mid-budget figure, Gambit is getting the full star treatment with a projected $150 million spend. That sort of budget is usually reserved for more established brands (even Wolverine's last outing cost less at $120 million), so Fox must have a lot of faith in Tatum, and high hopes for Gambit as a character. One wonders, with Hugh Jackman bowing out of the series in 2017, if the studio perhaps want Tatum to step-up and grab the role of franchise MVP? Gambit's certainly going to be a larger scale introduction than Deadpool, although crucially, the inflated budget probably means it'll have less swearing. Bigger action or heightened cursing? Tough call, that.
