6. It's Time To Focus On New Heroes

No, that doesn't mean it's time to start ditching people, but X-Men: Apocalypse added quite a few new cast members to an already extremely expansive cast. Moving forward, if the franchise doesn't want to get increasingly muddled, it's going to have to pick its main protagonists carefully and ensure that they fit whatever narrative is being told.

In fact, with the introduction of Jean Gray, Cyclops, Nightcrawler and Storm (among others), the franchise has a fantastic opportunity to shift its focus onto a new roster of heroes. After three films, a bit of character-based variety would go a long way in making subsequent narratives interesting.

It's unlikely anybody really wants to see characters like Charles Xavier completely disappear, but they don't necessarily need to be part of the main story. Paring the cast down to a more manageable state means it's easier to tell a better, more coherent story.
