X-Men Apocalypse: 13 Reasons It's A Huge Disappointment

9. Jennifer Lawrence Clearly Doesn't Care Anymore

There was a lot of hand-wringing from fans who were worried that the trailers seemed to imply the movie would be "Jennifer Lawrence and friends", with it giving Mystique a more focal role than necessary solely because Lawrence is a Hollywood darling and the film's biggest marketing asset.

While her role is thankfully more subdued in the final product, it's painfully evident that she doesn't really care about being in these movies anymore. Sure, there's only so much even an Oscar winner such as herself can do with the fairly trite, dull rallying speeches she's given, but her lack of enthusiasm is woefully apparent and drains the film of much of its energy every time she's on-screen.

It's the definition of a phoned-in performance, and if J-Law does indeed return for more movies (which surely doesn't seem very likely), hopefully she'll put a little more effort in next time. If she's able to lobby the filmmakers to give her less scenes as blue Mystique, can she lobby for better writing too?
