X-Men Apocalypse: 13 Reasons It's A Huge Disappointment

7. Sophie Turner's Distractingly Awful American Accent

Fans were pretty excited when Sansa Stark herself, Sophie Turner, ended up cast as a young version of Jean Grey for the movie. Sadly, the end result is more peculiar than satisfying.

The trailers themselves invoked a fair amount of criticism for Turner's apparently ropey American accent, and her work in the final film unfortunately isn't a whole lot better. Turner constantly over-affects the inflections and it makes the accent sound hilariously false, while she occasionally also dips back into her British tongue (specifically the line from the trailer, "I could see all this death").

It's a shame, as the movie devotes a lot of screen time to singling out Jean Grey and setting up some interesting prospects for her in future movies, but in the end Turner's mediocre performance detracts from much of the good work the script does.
