X-Men: Apocalypse - 25 WTF Moments

3. The Most Cliched Dialogue In Franchise History

For the most part, the spectacle in Apocalypse is enough to distract from the iffier moments in the script through the first two acts, but it seems that as the climax drew closer and the action element was dialled up, Singer just seems to have compromised entirely on writing his characters in a believable way.

The worst moment comes when Professor X realises that he can invade Apocalypse's head and the pair fight in the imaginary halls of Xavier's mansion. It doesn't go well for Charles, and the sequence would be pretty impressive were it not for the fact that the dialogue appears to have been written by a t-shirt slogan machine.

At one point, Xavier says "welcome to my house", as if that's an appropriate line for anyone outside of a 1988 Dolph Lundgren film.
