Zack Snyder's Justice League: 10 Issues That Hold It Back From Greatness

2. It's Very Self-Indulgent

This cut of the film very much feels like Zack Snyder throwing everything he originally filmed into one movie and, in fairness to him, it's understandable that he wanted to do this. It will have been hard to see the film changed so much from his original vision, but his director's cut still needed a ton of trimming down.

There is far, far too much material in this movie and as it should go without saying, four hours is too goddamn long. Thanks to how overstuffed the movie is, it's a wildly uneven film - more specifically, the second and fourth hours of the film are excellent but the first and third hours frequently drag.

What makes it worse is that there is so much here that could've been shortened or cut out altogether, especially that bizarre and confusing dream sequence at the end, which is unlikely to ever be followed up on.

By throwing absolutely everything in here, Snyder did harm the coherence and pace of the overall film, and that finally leads up to the biggest problem with the Snyder Cut...
