Zack Snyder's Justice League: All Characters Ranked Worst To Best

23. Commissioner Gordon

Jessie Eisenberg Lex Luthor Justice League
Warner Bros.

J.K. Simmons appears in both the theatrical cut and Snyder's Cut of Justice League, with his role still being quite a small one in the latter edition.

While there is nothing wrong with J.K. Simmons role as Commissioner Gordon, the actor is simply not given much to do. As mentioned, his screen time was very minimal and all the footage the audience is given of Gordon was already showcased in the theatrical cut (the scene where Gordon talks to another police officer and the scene at the Bat Signal).

An additional scene from the theatrical cut after the Justice League's first battle with Steppenwolf of Jim Gordon speaking to Batman and meeting Aquaman was even cut from the film, leaving Simmons with an even smaller role. While it may be unlikely, it would be amazing to see Simmons tackle the part in a more extended role in a Ben Affleck led Batman film.
