What the Sonic Racing games lacked in originality, they more than made up for with the use of Sega licences for racers and tracks.
What do you mean Team Sonic Racing doesn't have Sega characters? Uh oh.
The use of just Sonic characters in Team Sonic Racing may be a bit more streamlined, but it is definitely a big disappointment for fans of the previous games. It feels like a bit of a downgrade if anything, especially when you're picking characters from games like Lost World.
Thankfully, everything else in the game seems to have been improved. Customisation options are now a full feature in the game and there's a lot of love put into the tracks and especially the music.
The actual racing itself is really what matters here, and it looks just as good as it did in Transformed, with a different style to games like Mario Kart.
Hopefully the racing speaks for itself, because the lack of other Sega characters might leave this one in the dust.
