One of the most-requested remakes of the last few years is unquestionably Tony Hawk's Pro Skater - a 4K collection of the first few games in the much-loved skateboarding franchise, in fact.

After the critical and commercial failure of the wretched Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5, a return to the sure-fire brilliance of the earlier games would be a smart way to revitalise the franchise, and given the tested popularity of nostalgia-fuelled remakes, it's also extremely low-risk.

Prominent leaker Sabi claims that Activision already had internal prototype remakes of the first two THPS games built by late last year, and so it's reasonable to expect a release sometime over the next 12 months.

Though it goes without saying that the games' iconic soundtracks may need to be re-jigged due to licensing issues, if it can replicate that compulsively addictive original gameplay, this could be one of the greatest video game remake projects ever.
