10 Addictive Video Games That Totally Destroyed Your Social Life

8. Grand Theft Auto V

Every Grand Theft Auto game in the series' long history has the power to make your social life seem inferior to the grandiose allure of Liberty City or San Andreas, but GTA V specifically has an additional ingredient to ensure you keep coming back: Grand Theft Auto Online. The crime-fuelled shenanigans that Trevor, Franklin and Michael get involved in during GTA V's story are more than enough on their own to swallow up any spare time you're lucky to have, but that solo experience has a definitive ending and resolution. Imagine that the three robbers hadn't gone their own separate ways at the conclusion of their journey and had instead opted to continue sticking-up banks until they were long in the tooth and you'll be on the right track. There's one key difference, of course - you get to share the world with other people. GTA Online doesn't so much destroy your social life as replace it entirely with a digital one where you're drawing up plans for your next big score with some buddys rather than getting completely smashed down the pub with the high possibility of committing a real crime in the process.
