Capcom's ever-expanding list of iconic video game characters is made all the more impressive by having two compelling takes on Dante from the Devil May Cry series.

Ninja Theory's fresh take on the Devil May Cry character wielded somewhat mixed results, with many criticising the character's aloof personality, as well as the significant makeover changes made to a protagonist who already had four games behind him. To others, he was an enjoyable --if a little unfaithful-- take on a character who had become stale in his old age.

To satisfy both sides of the aisle, the white-haired Dante available when completing the main campaign will offer veteran fans something more visually familiar, while keeping his new personality firmly intact.

Dante's white hair in DMC: Devil May Cry will be the standard costume for anyone who was disgruntled with the changes made to the beloved character. Keeping the outfit on during future playthroughs of each of the game's many difficulty modes will be a source of comfort to many, reminding veteran fans of what the series used to be.

Thankfully for them, Devil May Cry 5 returned Dante to his usual aesthetics, but not before Ninja Theory thoroughly divided the series' fanbase with its 2013 release.
