10 Amazing Recent Games That Were 5 Hours Or Less

8. Indika

Odd Meter

One of 2024's most criminally overlooked games, Indika is a true original in a sea of me-too trend-chasers - and one that wants to challenge the very idea of what video games can be.

You're best going into Indika as blind as possible, but the basic premise casts players as the title character - a nun struggling to adjust to monastic life, as she grapples with both religious doubt and her ability to apparently hear the voice of the Devil.

Indika is an intentionally odd, at times darkly hilarious game that's tailor-made to leave you feeling uneasy and thrown off-balance.

Developers Odd-Meter intentionally toy with our expectations of what an adventure game should be, throwing in unexpected mini-games designed to poke fun at the very notion of "gaminess" itself, used as an analog for the drudgery of religious servitude.

Across its mere three hours, Indika delivers a materially strange, stylistically heightened meditation on faith that's basically impossible to forget.
