10 Amazing Recent Games That Were 5 Hours Or Less

5. Jusant

Dontnod

Quietly released at the end of 2023, Jusant is a thoroughly chill puzzle-platformer from original Life is Strange developers Don't Nod.

The player takes control of a wanderer whose simple goal is to ascend to the top of a tower, which requires enormous amounts of climbing with occasional exploration of the mountain's various biomes.

With a sheer plot and no dialogue, Jusant is a game that lets its environment tell the story, all while players are largely left to their own devices to reach the summit for most of its three hours.

Entirely free of combat, this is one of the most relaxing games of the past decade, emphasising the joyful physicality of climbing as a puzzle.

It's been understandably compared to both Ico and Journey, but carves out a firm place for itself in the contemplative indie space - one elevated by a gorgeous score from Guillaume Ferran.
