10 Amazing Recent Games That Were 5 Hours Or Less

2. Mouthwashing

One of the most talked-about indie games of the past year - and for damn good reason - Mouthwashing is a uniquely atmospheric and unnerving horror title following five crew members of a freight spacecraft in the wake of a catastrophic crash.

Mechanically, Mouthwashing is an incredibly simple game, largely defined by basic exploration and puzzle-solving, with only a few brief stealth and combat encounters to deal with.

But its deeply twisted, even Lynchian writing, combined with an innately offputting visual style and moody score to match, makes Mouthwashing one of the most unforgettable horror games of recent times.

Though its surreal, boundary-pushing approach won't be for all tastes, if you're willing to follow developer Wrong Organ down this sicko rabbit hole, the reward is a fiercely original outing sure to embed itself deep in your subconscious forever more.

And there's no chance of it even getting close to outstaying its welcome, as Mouthwashing clocks in at an entirely fat-free two hours.
