10 AMAZING Video Games That Didn't Get Sequels

1. Alien: Isolation

Developed by Creative Assembly and released in 2014. Alien: Isolation is a survival horror game, which was set between the classic films - Alien and Aliens – as Ellen Ripley’s daughter, Amanda, searches for her missing mother.

Unlike many videogame adaptations of the Alien films, which presented H.R. Giger’s famous Xenomorph monster as cannon fodder, Alien: Isolation sought to restore the Xenomorph as the indomitable threat it was presented as in the 1979 film.

A singular Xenomorph stalks Amanda Ripley around a dilapidated space station. Although Amanda finds some weapons she can use to fight the games human and harrowing android enemies, she has nothing in her arsenal that can hurt the Xenomorph, forcing her to cower in lockers and ventilation shafts to evade detection.

The Xenomorph is a constant threat throughout and displays startling artificial intelligence; the Xenomorph learns from your behaviour and will counter any repeatedly abused tactics used by the player.

The game is a dream for fans of the film; the sound and visual design perfectly echoes the movies and effectively transports you into the world.

No sequel is planned despite the game performing well critically and commercially. Alien: Isolation was released only a year after the execrable game, Alien: Colonial Marines, and that may be partly to blame for some players choosing to ignore Alien: Isolation.
