10 AMAZING Video Games That Didn't Get Sequels

4. Bloodborne

FromSoftware

Bloodborne was developed by FromSoftware and released in 2015 as a PS4 exclusive. The game shares a lot of DNA with Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls, namely the punishing difficulty and precise combat, but Bloodborne is a different beast.

Whereas Dark Souls encourages a slow methodical approach, Bloodborne tried its damnedest to get players to be aggressive; Bloodborne combat is fast and brutal, and players can heal themselves by inflicting damage on enemies, providing they retaliate quick enough.

The setting is another aspect which differs from the other Soulsborne games, which are largely inspired by western medieval fantasy; Bloodborne though, is a heady mix of gothic and cosmic horror set in the faux-Victorian city of Yharnam, where monsters and madness stalk the streets.

Rumours of a sequel surface from time to time, but FromSoftware has so far kept quiet on the subject. As the most recently released game on this list, there is every chance we’ll get Bloodborne 2 once FromSoftware wraps up development on their current project, Elden Ring.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
