10 Awesome Cancelled Video Games We Still Want To Play

1. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2

stalker-2Why We Want To Play It:While the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game fell slave to some technological limitations and bugs, it was an ambitious game that received solid praise. Developer GSC Game World created a gritty, and at times frightening FPS that incorporated incredible environments and stellar gunplay. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was going to incorporate a new engine and would have hopefully allowed the developers to learn from their mistakes and proceed to create an FPS that went against the grain of most in its genre. Why We Never Will:The situation with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is dicey at best. In April of 2012, it was reported that GSC Game World was closed down, thus halting development on the sequel. A team worked on it, for free, while they searched for investors, but found none. Eventually, the studio reopened as Vostok Games, who began working on a different project. Later that year, Bethesda bought the rights to S.T.A.L.K.E.R., but they cannot create a game within the universe of the original. This essentially means that we€™ll never see a true sequel to the original, but Bethesda has the rights to create a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game. Agree? Disagree? Let us know in the comments section below.
