10 Awesome Video Game Crossovers We Were ROBBED Of
6. Capcom VS SNK 3
For fighting game fans of a certain age, there was nothing more exciting than first hearing that Capcom and SNK - two absolute juggernauts of the genre - were gearing up to pit their most iconic fighters against one another in a monumental cross-over Capcom VS SNK
Fans were not only blessed with one crossover, but three in total, all of which were incredibly well-received, especially Capcom Vs SNK 2: Mark of the Millenium 2001. A game that's thought of so highly in the fighting game community that it still has an active tounrment scene to this day - one that's only been bolstered further by its recent re-release as part of the Capcom Fighting Collection Vol. 2.
So given it's acclaim and longevity, why didn't Capcom VS SNK 2 get a follow-up?
Well, the sad truth is that the early 2000s were not a great time for SNK financially and weren't able to foot their half of the budget for the game - and Capcom were supposedly hesitant to fully fund the game themselves due to its niche nature.
However, given Capcom VS SNK 2's enduring legacy has seen a futher increase in the past year, there's still hope we could get a third game.
