3. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance X Nintendo

A firm favourite for fans of both superhero comics and couch co-op, the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance series has won legions of fans the world over for it's simple, yet incredibly satisfying gameplay and large roster of playable heroes on offer.

And said roster was supposed to be even larger than fans first thought as when the original game was set to make it's appearance on the Wii, the developers at Activision wanted to include The Legend of Zelda's Link and Metroid's Samus as playable characters. The developtment team even went so far as making a tech demo showing off both characters abililites. They enthsuiastically showed it to Nintendo who weren't keen on the idea and shut it down.

It's a shame this never happened as the inclusion of Link and Samus would have loaned the game a unique flavour that would have helped it stand out from the others ports. Nintendo has certainly been more open to collaborations in recent years - most notably in the Nitendo specific costumes they gave to Bayonetta when she jumped ship to Nintendo.

Who knows, maybe one day we'll see Link and Samus fight alongside all of your favourite Marvel characters.
