10 Awesome Video Games With AWFUL Titles
6. Battlefield 1
It wasn’t the first game.
Battlefield 1 might not be the most headline grabbingly awful title, but it’s incredibly stupid nonetheless. It wasn’t a reboot for the series nor a remake of the first game, yet was given the numbering of 1.
The game was actually the 11th Battlefield overall, and the fifth of the main series. The reason given for this was because the game was set in World War 1, but that still seems an unnecessarily complicated way of numbering the games.
Then again, you can play it on the Xbox’s third console, the Xbox One, so non chronological numbering seems to be very in vogue now.
If you are playing it on the Xbox One (or any of the other various systems), you definitely won’t be alone, as the game enjoyed absolutely astronomical sales. It’s Xbox’s fifth biggest seller ever, behind three Call Of Dutys and the evergreen Grand Theft Auto V.
While the title is daft, the choice of World War 1 proved to be inspired, so DICE clearly made the right choice.
Obviously, Battlefield 1 was followed by the sixth main Battlefield game, Battlefield V, which was not set in World War V.
