5. Sadie Adler - Red Dead Redemption 2
Being the only non-playable character on this list, we couldn’t write about modern day badass women without including Sadie Adler. This gun-toting heroine goes from quiet, grieving widow to a woman who will do whatever it takes for what she believes in.
Adler is found early on in the game, after the antagonistic O’Driscoll gang murder her husband and she is left alone in the mountains. After stumbling upon her, Adler joins your gang, at first as nothing more than a helping hand. She cooks, cleans and does a few chores around camp. Unhappy in her role, she asks to take on more and in no time is planning robberies and helping you recover imprisoned gang members.
Adler proves she is not only great with a pistol, intelligent and confident, but she also becomes a great friend to protagonist Arthur Morgan. Despite being so hot headed, when she promises Arthur she will look after John and his family should something happen to him, we all couldn’t help but tearing up a little.
Her story may be an incredibly sad one, but Sadie always stood up for what she thought was right and was always there for her friends. Even if she did scream at them a lot.
