4. Ellie - The Last Of Us
By now, everyone knows who Ellie from The Last Of Us series is. Becoming the face of the not only the series, but a flagship Playstation icon, Ellie was thrust to the spotlight as soon as the first game premiered back in 2013.
Being only fourteen in the first game, she is by far the youngest on this list, but ironically one of the most capable. She knows her way around a bow or a gun, she can hunt and is incredibly resourceful. A little rough around the edges, Ellie charmed players straight away with her humour, charm and her father-daughter relationship with Joel.
Despite seeming almost like a sidekick at first, she quickly proved to be the star of the series, saving Joel on more than one occasion, and then being the protagonist of the second game.
Ellie is wise beyond her years, being orphaned at such a young age, and knows how to take care of herself. This does not make her unlikeable or too serious however, as proven through her relationships, especially that with Riley. Loveable from beginning to end, Ellie is an incredibly realised character who knows how to take care of herself, whilst still finding the beauty in such a harsh world.
