10 Beautiful Looking Games (That Play Terribly)
3. BodyCam
The graphics of BodyCam are so authentic, it's easy to mistake it for real footage. Even when you realise it's a video game, you'd swear this tactical shooter was using real-life imagery, since every brick, leaf, and blade of grass seems like the real deal.
But that isn't the case. For BodyCam, Reissad Studio used the Unreal Engine 5 to simulate photorealistic environments, character animations, and lighting. The gameplay accurately mimics bodycam footage by utilising motion blur, shakiness, and lens distortion.
Which is why it's a shame to learn the developers neglected everything else. There's minimal content, to the point where BodyCam feels like a demo. The gunplay is awkward, thanks to the input lag and sporadic aim. With the persistent bugs and glitchy animations, even the simplest mission quickly grow tiresome.
Although the March 2025 patch should've remedied these issues, the update made the gameplay feel like a Call of Duty clone, stripping away what made BodyCam stand out in the first place.
Though the game is still in early access, hype for BodyCam has plummeted since there's no indication that its persistent problems will be fixed any time soon.
