10 Beautiful Video Game Endings That Made Us Cry
7. Undertale
Out of all of Undertale's multiple endings, the True Pacifist route is considered by many, including the game itself, to be the best. An ending so good that if you try turning on the game again after running it, Flowey will show up and beg you not to, pleading with you to not take away this happy ending.
This ending can only be reached by playing the game twice, once via a neutral run, and then again via a true pacifist run. In the end, Flowey absorbs the souls of everyone in the Underground, thus giving him the power to reveal his true form: Asriel Dreemur.
Frisk must then stop Asriel from rebooting everything to the beginning so this can all start again, resulting in the easiest final boss fight of all time. Mostly because for all his laser light show attacks, it is impossible to die in this fight. Every time a lethal blow is struck, your soul reforms with the caption "But it resisted".
With that guarantee of success, Frisk wears Asriel down until he has nothing left. The two embrace, in what is by far the game's most beloved moment, as Frisk finally manages to convince Asriel to use his powers to bring down the barrier, letting all the monsters out into the world again at long last.
