10 Beloved Video Games You Forgot Never Got Sequels

7. Dante€™s Inferno

Visceral Games just can€™t catch a break. Ranging from the brilliant Dead Space series to the somehow genuinely good Simpsons game (back when they were EA Redwood Shores), the developers have a sordid history of making really great games that don€™t get the follow-ups they deserve. Like Visceral€™s other titles, Dante€™s Inferno suffered the same fate. Released in 2010, the action-heavy game borrowed many elements from God of War and Devil May Cry, although it managed to stand out as an imaginative new IP thanks to its literary origins and grisly aesthetic. Boasting a pretty solid critical reception all-around and a lot of fan appreciation, the game seemed like another bold step for the developer and a follow-up seemed like a no-brainer. However with the success of Dead Space 2, Visceral never returned to this bloody hack-and-slasher, and now that the company is essentially playing second-fiddle to DICE€™s Battlefield machine, it doesn't look like they€™ll be given the chance to revisit this world any time soon.
