5. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2
There's fan service, and then there's whatever the hell you'd call Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. Every game on this list in some way makes an attempt to satiate anime fans through any manner of reference, but for Xenoverse 2 they really turned things up to 11.
There is a competent and surprisingly deep combat system at the heart of Xenoverse 2, but the real appeal of the game is making and perfecting your own Dragon Ball character. You can choose from almost any race in the series, wear any piece of clothing in the series, fight any character from the series, use any special attack from the series - honestly the true appeal of this game would be completely lost on non-fans.
It's also a massive step up from the first Xenoverse game, with an insane amount of extra content and completely overhauled AI.
Whether for better or worse, the game is STILL pumping out DLC - four years after it's release. The new DLC for the game is set to launch as we speak. At this point buying all the DLC for the game would set you back more than the base game itself, but fans of the game certainly don't seem to mind.
