10 Best Anime Games Of The Last 10 Years

4. Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch

Alright, if we're being honest, having Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch on this list is definitely cheating. It is, without a doubt, anime-inspired - heavily featuring work by the incredibly talented animation team behind Studio Ghibli.

Unlike every other entry on this list however, it is not based on or in any way linked to an original anime of its own. The game is an entirely new IP, birthed from the mind of the anime-obsessed Akihiro Hino. If it's any consolation though, the videogame ended up being turned into an anime - so it still counts!

Some of the more eagle-eyed readers may have noticed we decided to pick the first entry into the Ni No Kuni series instead of its sequel. Regardless of the gameplay quality of either game (with Ni No Kuni 2 still coming in second), what really sets the two games apart is Studio Ghibli's involvement.

Studio Ghibli ended up not coming back for Ni No Kuni 2, and their lack of polish and care really does shine through during the sequel's animated segments. Still a great game, it just doesn't hold a candle to its predecessor.
