10 Best Gaming Remakes Of This Console Generation

5. Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy

Resident Evil 2
Vicarious Visions

Given the success of the N-Sane trilogy, it's hard to believe that prior to its release gamers had been without a Crash Bandicoot game for seven years. Clearly, absence does make the heart grow fonder.

Vicarious Visions' remake of the original Crash games succeeded in reminding gamers why Crash was an iconic part of many of our childhoods, bringing the Bandicoot back to life in eye-popping detail while retaining the original games' charms (engaging platforming, fun set-piece levels, eye-watering difficulty).

After Crash spent the first decade of the 21st century gradually losing his way, appearing in mediocre party games and brawlers, N-Sane Trilogy was a welcome return to the furry one's roots and a reminder that some formulas don't need to be tampered with. Crash was always at his best smashing crates and collecting gems in 2.5 Dimensions, and hopefully we'll be seeing more of him on the PS5.

(FYI, N-Sane Trilogy got the nod over Nitro Kart Refuelled due to its lack of shady microtransactions. Hopefully Activision can avoid making the same mistake with our next pick...)
