10 Best Levels In The Spyro Reignited Trilogy

4. Fireworks Factory

Handel and Greta return here and they’re better than ever. The quickfire ninja moves of Greta look particularly magnificent in the Reignited graphical remaster. While the Toys For Bob redesign of the twins wasn’t universally acclaimed, the Fireworks Factory level they call their home in Year Of The Dragon has no such issues.

Played at sunset, the skyline adds gorgeous depth to the environment, and Spyro shooting multicoloured fireworks only adds to the appeal. Spitting projectiles had long been a part of gameplay by the time players (at least those who played the games in order) reached Fireworks Factory. But something as simple as a rainbow explosion on impact made it somehow feel brand new.

While Greta is ninjaing it up in the main level, Handel is waiting through one of Year Of The Dragon’s many portals. His challenge for Spyro is possibly the closest the game ever gets to making you feel like a real dragon, and is definitely worth the frustration caused by the tweaked flight controls. Supplying you with both a flame and flight power up, Handel tasks you with taking down not one, but two Chinese dragons.
