10 Best Local Multiplayer Video Games Of The Decade
4. Stardew Valley
When a game is already delightful in single player for a couple of years, and then receives a surprise multiplayer update, you already know you’re in for a great time.
Stardew Valley is a 2016 farming simulation RPG with adorable pixelated graphics and incredibly deep gameplay. Turn away from your stressful city life and move out to the countryside, where you’ll have the opportunity to grow crops, construct farm buildings and fill them with animals, explore monster-ridden dungeons, grow relationships with the local inhabitants, and so much more.
Multiplayer mode is basically the same, chilled-out experience that single player is, except who knew how much fun working together with another farmer would be. It essentially halves the time that it will take you both to construct the beautiful farm of your dreams.
Connect to your friend’s farm with your Nintendo switches, and the two of you can sit side by side and relax in this adorable, immersive, relaxing experience together.
A friend and I only planned to play for a couple of hours, but this of course turned into about 8 hours straight, and even that is barely scratching the surface of everything this game has to offer.
