10 Best Seasons In Telltale Games History - Ranked
7. Guardians Of The Galaxy
The Telltale engine was notoriously buggy, and games chugged and crashed with alarming regularity. However, for years that was overlooked because of the high quality of the stories and the uniqueness of the seasons. Guardians of the Galaxy seemed to be the straw that broke the camel's back, but perhaps everyone was a little too harsh.
Telltale's take on Guardians was odd because it was clearly attempting to emulate the Marvel movies right down to the aesthetic, but had different voice actors and altered backstories for the characters. All that said, once you got past the idiosyncrasies, you found a brilliant five-episode game that just oozed coolness and charm.
I mean come on, the season begins with a fight against Thanos.
The story took the Guardians in some interesting directions, and allowed for quite a bit of variation in playthroughs. It was funny and featured awesome fan service, making it reminiscent of Tales From The Borderlands, but with MCU sensibilities. It's arguably Telltale's most underrated release, and well worth a play today.
