6. Batman: The Telltale Series - Season 1
Telltale Games felt like it was skyrocketing further and further when they announced a new series based on Batman in 2016. What followed was a great, surprising narrative that proved the team had no problem switching up the formula and making bold moves.
Coming off the heels of a rather disappointing Game of Thrones title, Telltale rebounded in style. The series jumped into Telltale's version of Batman's world and quickly showed gamers that this was not your canon Batman story. It brought Bruce Wayne's parents into the mix, changed The Penguin in a substantial way, and revamped some older characters in daring new takes.
It was dark and brutal as a Dark Knight tale should be, while allowing you to be as violent or passive as you like. You could endear yourself to Catwoman or Harvey Dent, piss off Alfred and play sections as the deft Bruce Wayne or the heavy-handed vigilante.
It was, perhaps, the perfect way to play a Batman game, capturing Bruce Wayne's side of things like no other game ever has.
