3. Resident Evil Revelations
Resident Evil is a gaming franchise that can do no wrong. Well, that isn't entirely true, as some disastrous titles like 5 and 6 prove.
Still, for most of its lifetime, the series has thrown us some of the best experiences in survival horror and was a founding father of the horror genre in gaming altogether. This title - initially designed for the handheld 3DS - entirely lives up to that legacy.
Revelation occurs between Resident Evil 4 and 5 and shows as the counter-terrorism agents Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield work to stop a bioterrorist organization from infecting the Earth's ocean with a deadly virus.
From this narrative, you play - in typical Resident Evil fashion - to keep your resources well-stocked, solve puzzles and kick some zombie butt. The story and visuals don't stray too far from the series' typical structure, making it feel like an authentic Resi experience.
Part of what makes this game work so well is the combination of classic slow-paced Resi horror and the newer, more action-oriented gameplay. It takes the best of both worlds to form a title that has your heart racing from both fear and adrenaline. It's a great survival horror game to tackle on the Switch.
