10 Best Open-World Video Games
9. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
The Witcher 3 has a vast world filled with some of the best quests the fantasy genre has to offer. A Witcher is a bounty hunter, but for monsters and other assorted nasties.
It’s not as simple as walking from A to B and hitting something with a sword a few times though. The key to success in The Witcher is preparation, as different monsters have different weaknesses, and you’ll need to scour the land to find specific ingredients to create potions and oils that will help you win in combat.
By more or less forcing you to do this, The Witcher 3 encourages you to explore every little corner of the world and experience everything the game has to offer.
If collectables are your thing, then The Witcher has you covered on that front too. You’ll have to find your way around and visit every tavern in game to collect Gwent cards, used for a mini game so popular that it even spawned a standalone spin-off.
