1. We're Not Tools Of The Government, Or Anyone Else. Fighting Was The Only Thing... The Only Thing I Was Good At. But... At Least I Always Fought For What I Believed In. Gray Fox (Metal Gear Solid)
Frank Jaeger, also known as Gray Fox, said a line that has never been matched on the same calibre for its significance in the Metal Gear Solid franchise. Gray Fox was one of two people that Solid Snake actually called a friend in MGS1 - the other is Roy Campbell, if youre curious to know - and his death left Snake with a new outlook in fighting. Think about it: Snake was born as a killing machine and exploited by the U.S. as a pawn to further their interests, which didnt offer him a true purpose for fighting - Liquid perfectly highlighted Snakes reason for returning to the battlefield when he said, You enjoy all the killing, that's why! - but Gray Fox showed that his own reason for fighting was what spurred him on. Snake passed on Foxs message to Raiden in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, demonstrating that the final words from his friend could offer someone else a reason to keep on fighting. There we have it. Powerful words from powerful characters. But are there any examples you think deserve to be on this list instead? Any La Li Lu Le Lo's lurking in the dark? How about Grey Fox's "A cornered fox is more dangerous than a jackal!" If there are, let us know in the comment's exactly what deserves to be on this list and which game the quote is from.
