10 Best Short Films Based On Video Games
1. Uncharted (2018)
This is, without a shadow of a doubt doubt, the quintessential video game short film. Starring Nathan Fillion as Nathan Drake and Stephen Lang as Sully, this fan film absolutely smashes the witty nature of the games and feels like it was written by Naughty Dog themselves. However, you don't even need to have much prior knowledge about the games to enjoy this one, Nathan Fillion's Drake is just that compelling.
It even received praise from both Neil Druckmann and Amy Hennig, the vice-president of Naughty Dog and the series creator, respectively. As such it gives a whole load of legitimacy to the piece, though it's still very much a fan film.
With expert choreography and an over-the-shoulder gun fight reminiscent of the third person shooting in the game series, this short easily rivals the action seen in many high budget blockbusters that come out today.
This masterpiece just leaves us with two questions: Why isn't there anymore of this? And can the official Tom Holland starring movie live up to this glorious fan effort?
