The star of the Legend of Zelda games has been practically mute since his very first appearance way back in 1986 on the Nintendo Entertainment System. Every game that has been released in the main series has been a killer app for Nintendo and there is no other character on this list that can boast such a rich pedigree of gaming excellence.
While his initial silence could be understandable, given the technology of the time, Link has never managed to develop a voice outside of the occasional cry or shout even in his newer outings.
Despite this, he has managed to defeat the evil Ganon multiple times through the generations, in addition to saving Princess Zelda whenever he is called upon to do so.
Link is truly one of the most well-loved and industry defining videogame characters of all time and any fans would be more than happy to see him continue his adventures without ever speaking a word. After all, at this point there is practically no voice he could own that could make the entire fandom happy.
