10 Best Teen Horror Video Games
1. White Day: A Labyrinth Named School
Another example of a non-Western terrifying
teen horror game that’s likely passed you by, White Day: A Labyrinth Named
School came to us courtesy of Korean development team Sonnori back in 2001.
Thankfully, though, the game was remade and released on PC and PlayStation 4 in
2017 for players to experience this haunting horror for themselves.
Set during the eponymous Asian holiday in which people are supposed to give gifts to whoever got them a gift on Valentines Day, players take on the role of new high school student Lee Hui-min, who, while delivering chocolates to a classmate’s locker, finds himself locked inside the school. As if being stuck in school wasn’t bad enough, this school is haunted by the ghosts of its horrific past.
With no means to defend yourself from the creepy spirits you’ll encounter and the janitors who’ll endlessly pursue you throughout the school as you search for items and documents needed to escape, this title leans more into the stealth side of survival horror, forcing you to run and hide whenever you’re spotted.
While the game is rather short, the conversations you have with other trapped students results in eight endings for players to unlock.
