The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is another one of the gaming world's most acclaimed titles, establishing its legacy as Metacritic's highest rated ever video game thanks to its visuals, storyline, depth and puzzle-based designs. It also contains one of the most addictive and genuinely fun minigames out there: fishing.

Located by a small hut on the edge of Lake Hylia, players can fish for as long as they like once they pay the twenty rupee asking price, and just lose themselves attempting to lure in the biggest fish they can find. If a player can snatch a fish that weighs more than fifteen pounds during the minigame, they will also earn themselves a Golden Scale which can be used for a Heart Piece.

Fishing in Ocarina of Time ended up spawning plenty of rip-offs in everything from Sonic Adventure to Red Dead Redemption, but the real reason why it is so good is how it's able to combine its quirkiness with its addictiveness. Reeling in a Golden Scale and scooping up a Heart Piece for the very first time is easily still one of the most satisfying feelings anyone can have from any minigame out there, and only adds to that sense of accomplishment so prevalent in the game.
