3. Dante (Devil May Cry)
Dante is a superhero on a mission throughout the hugely-popular Devil May Cry series. In his quest to avenge the death of his mother and corruption of his brother, Dante fights various demons and evil spirits with the help of the extraordinary powers that he inherited from his demon father Sparda. Indeed, it is implied throughout the narrative that Dante's powers may even dwarf those of his much-feared father. Dante has incredible body strength, with the ability to break boulders with minimal effort. He is unbelievably fast - perhaps the most rapid character in any video game to date - and he matches his speed with the ability to jump to great heights and scale walls with ease. He can breathe underwater, control objects telekinetically, is resistant to heat and, most impressively, is capable of recovering from even the most damaging of wounds. There is little doubt that Dante is the most overpowered figure on this list, but he has to be - he's fighting demons of similarly incredible power. However, Dante uses these abilities solely for morally acceptable ends. He refuses to harm humans, despite the fact that they are often shown to be worse individuals than the demons, which is an apparent symbol of his continuing love for his full-blood human mother.
