10 Best Video Games Based On Comic Books

9. X-Men Legends: Rise Of Apocalypse

X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse is an action role-playing game released in 2005 on all the major consoles of the time. It's the second game in the X-Men Legends series, and it's bigger and better than its predecessor, which is also an amazing game.

The goal of the sequel was to make it into a much larger scale than the first title. To accomplish this, the game's developers came up with a story that saw the X-Men team up with the Brotherhood of Mutants to take on a greater threat: the mutant supervillain Apocalypse.

Rise of Apocalypse added online play, which vastly improved upon the original. It also featured incredible cinematics, which kept the storing going beautifully. The game included a ton of additional characters and superpowers, so it was truly bigger and better than the first title.

The story is exceptional, and is one of the best features of the game, though some players likely found the gameplay a bit repetitive. Despite this, its settings, characters, and the flow of the story make X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse one of the best games to adapt Marvel Comics' mutants into their own title.
