5. Disney's Aladdin

Back in the day Disney and Capcom were thick as thieves, working together to produce so many bangers you could serve it with a scoop of mash and call it a tasty pub lunch. Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, and so many others were converted by Capcom into riotously entertaining affairs.

Yet arguably the collaboration never hit a high quite so lofty as when they worked together on Aladdin for the SNES and Mega Drive. This pairing of video games is so utterly sumptuous that it might well be THE platformer that defined my childhood. It was a title that was gorgeous to look at, but not afraid to push players from time to time, presenting trap-filled rooms, tight timed escape sections, and some really challenging platforming across the experience.

Both variants have their respective merits; The SNES version for its crisp and clean visuals and tight as Scrooge McDuck's vault-like audio, and the Mega Drive version because WATCH OUT LADS HE'S GOT A SWORD! Whichever version you had as a kid it was likely to be the real diamond in the rough of your collection and with good reason.
