Why aren't there more vampire games?

Seriously, once Legacy of Kain was done, we've seldom seen any franchises with a vampiric protagonist - and yet, looking at Dontnod's hack n' slash RPG, they're the perfect main character.

In Vampyr's case, it's a little rough around the edges as Dontnod are better known for Life is Strange, but the character of Jonathan Reid is one of the year's best. Someone turned against their will and forced to initially feast on rats to survive, you'll quickly delve into a Victorian London underbelly of demons and warring factions, letting you unlock a slew of powers to survive.

A morality meter measures just how satanic Reid himself is becoming, as the very idea of a doctor who also needs to take lives to survive is one hell of an immediate quandary. Naturally, Dontnod's chops as writers mean the game's script and voice acting are exemplary, with just enough tactile combat and enjoyable power-sets keeping the blood flowing.

More vampires across the board, please. Stat.
