10 Biggest Consumer Complaints The Gaming Industry Doesn't Want To Fix
1. Microtransactions Completely Ruining Games
Microtransactions shouldn't be in full priced triple-A games. Period.
Making players pay more to get more out of the game that they've just paid $60 dollars for is absolutely unreal. Games like Battlefront II basically ruined everything it had going for it by having microtransactions in them, and that's all it will ever be remembered for.
Publishers see games like Grand Theft Auto V and it's use of microtransactions and presume that that's the best way of doing it. GTA V may have them, but it's balanced by a healthy amount of free content, and a single-player campaign that avoids them altogether.
Even then, it makes publishers so much money that it seems extremely unlikely to stop anytime soon. The backlash that Battlefront II got should have served as a good example, but it unfortunately hasn't done enough.
Players absolutely hate microtransactions and everything that they stand for, especially when they're included in full priced games. Here's a tip publishers- leave the microtransactions to the free-to-play games.
