10 Biggest Disappointments From E3 2018
2. No Splinter Cell, Not Even An Announcement
Alright, look.
Ubisoft, if you're going to tease Splinter Cell by including Sam in the Ghost Recon Wildlands DLC; you're going to get Michael Ironside back in the booth for the voice and you're not going to debunk the hefty Walmart leak that revealed a ton of games before E3, why on Earth did you not capitalise on this with a full game? Do you just not want money from a fanbase actively prepped to throw money at the screen?
Maybe it was fan goodwill carrying those rumours and hopes further than they should ever have gone. Maybe Wildlands DLC ending with the tease of Fisher going on another mission was nothing more than a "Yup, he'll live on!" send-off, but... well, there's no way around it - Splinter Cell should have been at E3.
The lights should have dimmed, that goggle noise should have sounded out and those three lights should have appeared on-screen.
Even if the project was just starting now, Sam's presence should have been felt.
