10 Biggest Game Of The Year 2017 Contenders So Far
8. Hitman (The Complete First Season)
Hitman may have started being released last year, but most players got the chance to play it when it released as Hitman: The Complete First Season early this year.
Hitman feels like what Io-Interactive have been building up to for over 10 years, moving far away from the linearity of Absolution and back to the wide open levels from Blood Money. It also manages to make every single level feel absolutely huge, with some locations - like Paris and Sapienza - actually being some of the best in the entire series.
The gameplay feels especially outstanding. Stealth is natural and relies on social trickery, but it also isn't too difficult to get the hang of. This difficulty balance also carries on to the killing itself, with massively complicated methods of murder being complemented by simply shooting someone in the head.
Hitman is just the best evolution in the series since Blood Money, and the impending second season will hopefully be even better than the first.
Don't let its initially episodic nature turn you off.
