Producer Sam Raimi and writer Neil Druckmann confirmed during a surprise panel that they are in talks with Maisie Williams regarding a starring role in The Last of Us movie. While nothing has been signed just yet, it's looking like Williams, best known for her role as Arya in Game of Thrones, will be portraying Ellie on the big screen. With The Last of Us, Raimi and Druckmann claim to be aiming to create the first "really great movie" based on a video game. "I think it's going to be a great character journey and a great love story, and a great horror picture," spoke Raimi when discussing the production. Druckmann stated that the movie will put a great focus on the relationship between Ellie and Joel, as the emotional core of the story.
